Xpert-log is an exclusive network for independent forwarding and logistics companies from all continents fully committed to freight management and the provision of worldwide total supply chain solutions. Each year the company held an annual global meeting to meet new members and discuss plans. For 2018, the host country will be in Lisbon, Portugal.
The client wants me to design the 2018 banner poster and improve design with minimal cost. They like bold, clean, minimal and colourful design. They want to incorporate some Portugal image on the background. Based on restriction, design should not be comprised because of budget constrain but rather work on the available resources with objectivity and functionality.
Creating a banner does not mean dumping images into one tarpaulin and considering it done. It takes a well-thought out concept to create a poster with an impact. Our go-to strategy was to convey a striking and clear message of what the event was all about. Our priority was creating a font of the event title that would be noticeable to an ordinary passer-by. All the rest of the elements would serve to complement it.
The font itself of the event title expresses boldness and straightforwardness with clean cut modern lines. Once this was done we worked on the other elements - the background, the secondary texts, and the placements of the logo of the event sponsors. The composite background image was a stock photo of Belem that fits perfectly well with the entire banner.
This design was created with a specific budget in mind. So we had to tap on the available resources of the team to make it work. We also noticed that clean cut lines and bold fonts are always great especially when creating designs for the general public's consumption.
